Are you going to the hairdresser to color your hair? Then it is a good idea to to some research on which hair color suits you best. Of course, the hairdresser can always give you advice, but it is smart to get inspiration before your appointment. The Keune hair experts give you a number of tips to answer the question: 'which hair colour suits me best?'
Which hair color suits my skin? The undertone of your skin plays a major role in which colours suit you best. This applies to your clothing, but also to make-up and hair colour.
Cool or warm undertoneIf you have a warm undertone, colours such as red, cream white, orange, brown and yellow suit you. If you have a cold undertone, blue, green, pink and purple suit you better. If you have a neutral undertone, you are lucky, because then you can actually wear all colours well. Based on your undertone, you can determine which category you fall into and you will never choose the wrong hair color again.
How do you know your skin's undertone? There are 3 fun ways to see at home which shades suit your skin best.
1. The t-shirt testPut on a white t-shirt at home and stand in front of the mirror. If your skin shows a bit of yellow, you are better off with warm colors. If your skin shows more blue/pink, cooler colors suit you better. If you tend more to the greener side, you are a neutral type.
2. The vein testMany people can see the color of their veins on their wrists. If you have blue veins, you are a cool type. If you have green veins, you are a warm type. Can't see it clearly? Then you have a combination and are a neutral type.
3. The jewelry testStand in front of the mirror and switch between a gold and silver necklace. How do both colors look on your face? Do you become pale or do you get more color? Does the necklace lie more on your skin or does it blend in nicely with your skin? Gold and rose gold look best with a warm undertone and silver with a cool undertone.
In addition to the undertone of your skin, the color of your eyes and natural hair color also determine which hair color suits you. Now that you know whether you have a warm or cool undertone, you can look at which seasonal type you are.
Which hair color suits my seasonal type?We distinguish between four seasonal types: summer, spring, autumn and winter.
Autumn and spring are warm types. Summer and winter are cool types. Once you know what type you are, you can start looking at which hair color suits you. We give a number of examples of what you can think of and explain the differences:

1. Don't wash your hair too oftenIf you want to enjoy your hair color for as long as possible, we recommend not washing your hair too often. The color will fade faster. Wash your hair twice a week and postpone your wash with a dry shampoo.
2. Hydrate your hairYour hair can use some extra attention after coloring. Use a hair mask for intense nourishment. After washing your hair, you can use a hydrating spray, such as our Color Brillianz Spray. This spray locks in your color and gives your hair a healthy shine.
3. Use the right productsDo you have bleached hair? Then use products specifically for bleached hair to restore your hair, such as our Blonde Savior. Or a silver shampoo and silver conditioner to neutralize a warm glow, such as our Silver Savior. Do you have colored hair? Then use our Color Brillianz or Tinta Color for color maintenance.
